Built on Stalin’s orders in 1952 and fully refurbished in 1997 – this hotel definitely has an era of communist grandeur about it! With its imposing facades, it offers a truly unique hotel experience in Moscow. The retro interior is very grand and service is generally very polite and courteous.
The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the Metro Dynamo, which takes you a few stops directly to Red Square. The hotel also has a famous restaurant which was opened in 1851 before the hotel was built. In 1910 the restaurant was reconstructed and then in 1951 Stalin ordered the hotel to be built on the restaurant. These days the hotel serves French and Russian cuisine.
