Holidays in South Korea

South Korea is a country packed with culture, history, great sites and shopping. It's affordable and accessible yet few tourists from the UK visit. So what does Korea have to offer the British tourist? A visit to Korea will start and finish in Seoul - one of the worlds' largest cities, home to 11 million.

A first time visitor may compare the capital, Seoul to Tokyo with its bright neon lights and shiny sky scrapers - yet explore further within the city and you will see the unique timeless patches of ancient architecture tucked neatly away behind the bustle of modern life. Whilst in Seoul you will have the opportunity to visit the Demilitarised Zone, the border marking the end of the Korean War almost half a century ago - the last frontier of the Cold War.

Travelling on from Seoul to the ancient city of Gyeongju is a peaceful antidote to the busy capital. High in the surrounding mountains is the Sokkauam Grotto marked out by the Golden Budda and the Pulgauska Temple. Carry onto Jeju Island, a great place for relaxation. The island has plenty of white sandy beaches, botanical gardens, tropical rain forests and pristine golf courses.
