The capital Nuuk is surrounded by fjords and is great for whale watching excursions. Nuuk is the oldest city, founded in 1728 and seems a huge bustling place by Greenland standards with its 16,000 inhabitants. Further south is Paamiut known for its sea eagles and great hiking trails.
