West Greenland Holidays

West/North Greenland is the land of the midnight sun, dogsledding and glaciers. The region stretches from Kangaatsiaq in the south to Qaanaaq in the north. During the summer, the sun is in the sky twenty-four hours a day but of course in the depths of winter the sun barely makes an appearance.

The coastline is dotted with countless rocky islands. Disko Island is famed for its huge basalt mountains and the cliffs around Upernavik are home to spectacular colonies of seabirds. The whole coast abounds with glaciers and ice fields and some of the worlds most productive and fast-moving glaciers can be seen around Uummannaq and Ilulissat.
