June - September
MINI SUMMER PUPPET FESTIVAL

Starts final Wed of every June.

Ljubljana's Mini Puppet Theatre, based at the imposing Ljubljana Castle, hosts the Mini Summer Puppet Festival, a must for families living in or visiting the Slovenian capital. With performances every Sunday (as well as the opening Wednesday and the Saturday before the final day of the festival), visiting companies from all around Eastern Europe come to entertain, with only Spain able to represent this long-lost tradition in Western European culture.

LJUBLJANA SUMMER FESTIVAL

Starts 2nd Thurs of every July

First held in 1953, the Ljubljana Summer Festival is the biggest annual cultural event in Slovenia and brings international artists to the capital for six weeks of feverish artistic activity. After the Tourist Society of Ljubljana's Tourist Week, arranged in 1952, the first Ljubljana Festival was held the following year, subsequently growing to feature cultural, business, folklore, tourist and sports events.

ROLLERBLADE FESTIVAL

BELGRADE SPORT FEST
Athletes compete in 150 different sports, held in the lake town 'ADA CIGANLIJA' with music programmes to help the festival go with a swing!

EUROPEAN WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIP
Belgrade hosts this year's championship in the TASMAHDAN pool.

A THOUSAND POTS
For many years, CELAVI PLACE in SOMBOR has been the venue for a competition to cook the famous Serbian dish of 'Fish Paprikash'. The competition draws thousands of people to the town and entertainment lasts until the early hours.

EXIT FESTIVAL
EXIT is the biggest music festival in the Balkans and is held in the town of NOVI SAD. Last year there were 700 performers with an audience of 150,000 visitors (30,000 from abroad).

BBQ FESTIVAL
