trip to Tibet including one way on the Beijing to Lhasa

A chance to be
a pioneer, on the railway to the roof of the world.
Slowly climb from the plains of Beijing to the peaks
of Tibet in brand-new, pressurised wagons, travelling
a total distance of 4,064 kilometres through amazing
landscapes, sprawling towns and distant villages. This
itinerary summarises modern China from the sophistication
of Beijing to the simplicity of Lhasa, Tibet.
This individual itinerary can be extended
in Tibet and stop offs en route can be arranged in Xian
and Chengdu.

FLY TO BEIJING |
| Day 2 |
BEIJING
Arrive Beijing and transfer to hotel overnight. |
| Day 3 |
BEIJING TO LHASA
Transfer to railway station for train to Beijing
at 21.30 |
| Day 4 |
ON TRAIN
On train passing Xian and heading west through
fertile and heavily farmed country into Ganzu
and on to Lanzhou. The train then heads northwest
into Qinghai Province, on Tibets north-eastern
border, and onto the provincial capital Xining.

| Day 5 |
LHASA
Today is spent traveling through to Golmud, which
is the starting point for the new Roof of
the World railway line to Lhasa. Arrive
Lhasa in the evening and transfer to hotel for
2 nights.

| Day 6 |
LHASA
Full day sightseeing tour will include the Lhasa's
cardinal landmark - Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple
and flourishing Barkhor Street. Visits are also
made to the Sera Monastery, where you can witness
the monks debating club. Lunch and a Tibetan style
dinner are also included.

| Day 7 |
LHASA
Another full day sightseeing tour to include two
of Tibet's most sacred sites, the Drepung Monastery
followed by Sera Temple. Lunch and dinner are
included.

Day 8
|
LHASA TO BEIJING
Transfer to airport for flight to Beijing via
Chengdu. Arrive Beijing and transfer to hotel
for overnight stay.
