Itinerary | | Day 1 | FLY
TO SARAJEVO Fly to Sarajevo and transfer to hotel for 2nights. |
| Day 2 | SARAJEVO
Situated in a valley and surrounded by hills and mountains, Sarajevo offers plenty
of choice for its visitors, such as the artistic sites of Bascarsija, the Old
Town, tasty fresh food and a friendly welcome from the inhabitants. Visit its
many churches and mosques and explore the cobbled lanes for copper, leather and
wooden handicrafts and souvenirs. | | Day
3 | SARAJEO TO MOSTAR Pick up the car from
your hotel and drive south to Herzegovina through Tunnel Ivan. You will not only
notice a change in landscape, which will become more and more rocky and filled
with vineyards, but also the climate will be much warmer and sunnier. Arrive in
Mostar and check in at Hotel for 2 nights. Visit this beautiful town set on the
Neretva River and its iconic bridge - the best views of the city and landmarks
are definitely by night - so dine at one of the restaurants on the banks of the
river for spectacular panoramas! | | Day
4 | MOSTAR TO BLAGAJ Explore the city
further and drive to near-by Blagaj. Situated by the River Buna, which flows out
of a 200 metre cliff, you will see the Tekke, a Dervish monastery. If you want
to explore more of the surrounding area, drive westwards to Kravice waterfalls
and the Franciscan Monastery or return to Mostar for more sightseeing. |
| Day 5 | MOSTAR
TO DUBROVNIK Drive to the old Turkish market town of Pocitelj, a beautiful
Ottoman hill settlement. Stop for some fresh home-made doughnuts and local cheese
if you can before continuing to Trebinje, in the heart of the wine region. Experience
the Mediterranean feel in this lovely sun-washed little town before reaching Croatia.
Arrive in Dubrovnik and check in at hotel for 3 nights. | | Day
6 | DUBROVNIK Take your time to explore
the Old Town in full, with its narrow alleys, picturesque squares and its famous
sites, such as the Cathedral and the Franciscan Monastery where a visit to the
third oldest pharmacy in Europe is a must. | |
Day 7 | DUBROVNIK Go back to the Old
Town and explore further or take a day cruise to the little and pretty islands
just off the Dalmatian coast or drive eastwards to the charming fishing village
of Cavtat. Try some local seafood in Lapad, where your hotel is located - try
the black risotto at Orsan, the restaurant at the yacht club, and take a coastal
walk at sunset. | | Day 8 | FLY
