Holidays in China - Tour Itineraries
A
14 day extensive tour of Shanghai and China's ancient
villages from £1395 per person
As one would expect from such a vast country, which has been a cradle of civilisation, China offers a truly stunning variety of
landscapes and architecture. Towns, which have not changed for centuries, give a wonderful insight into small-scale urban
development, which have evolved according to local conditions and customs. Mountains rising out of the mists, stunning lakes and
waterways have been a constant inspiration to Chinese artists.
This individual itinerary uses private transfers and guides and will not only take you to some of the most popular locations but also afford the
opportunity to really appreciate the smaller towns and more remote areas, before landing in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.

-- a key foundation of Chinese design. After lunch, drive to Wuzhen, a town famous for

the walls of their houses black (wu in regional

was once a bustling and prosperous trading centre
until it was sacked during the Taiping Rebellion
in 1861. In the morning, you will visit Lingyin
Temple, one of the biggest temple complexes in
China. It is most famous for its "laughing
Buddha", and today is an attractive working
temple with daily services. After lunch, visit the Tea Museum and the Longjing
village to sample its famous green tea. In late

considered to be one of China's most beautiful

literary and historic association. |

many of which have been converted into antique
shops selling furniture and souvenirs.
