One of our favourite holidays in Turkey is on a gullet cruise. Cruising is in traditional hand-made wooden sailing
vessels known as “gullets” and these sail around the lovely unspoilt coves and bays of the southern Turkish coast. Daily duration of cruising is usually not longer than 3-4 hours and the rest of the day can be spent in beautiful secluded bays with pine forests reaching into the crystal waters. Please contact me for details of these cruises.

Turkey City Breaks

A city break in Turkey is the perfect way to enjoy a taste of this majestic and beautifully diverse country that still bears all the hallmarks of a land that was once the seat of vast empires. With its dramatic landscape strewn with archaeological marvels, perfectly preserved architectural gems and iconic historical sites, and a sparkling Mediterranean coastline dotted with picturesque Greco-Roman towns, Turkey is both a natural and man-made wonder that is truly unique amongst the world.

Turkey’s rich cultural heritage is still very much evident in its towns and cities. Antalya and Istanbul are particular treasures each offering unique but equally fascinating glimpses into the country’s history and way of life, and are both ideal bases for a city break in Turkey. The nation’s largest city, Istanbul is Turkey’s economic and cultural heart. Spectacular Ottoman mosques and palaces, Byzantine churches and Greek temples all jostle for position in the Istanbul skyline while the streets below are crammed with bazaars, shops, galleries and eateries serving delicious meze. With a youthful and vibrant population, Istanbul also boasts a thriving arts and music scene and pulsating night life.

For a slightly more sedate Turkey city break experience visit the serene Mediterranean coastal city of Antalya. With its picturesque Old Town winding its way down to the ancient harbour, this charming haven is the perfect place to unwind while still taking in the historical and cultural delights Turkey has to offer.
