Dana Nature Reserve Holidays

Dana Nature Reserve was the first nature reserve in Jordan and protects part of the Great Rift Valley that stretches through the country. Choose to stay in tented accommodation at Dana Rummana Camp perched on the edge of a clifftop plateau. Here the which the craggy valley unfurls beneath you, sweeping away from the ledge and long past the horizon, allowing you to wake up to the most magnificent of views across the staggeringly beautiful scenery. At night, the vast skies erupt with billions of stars, unmarred by any light pollution as the camp is illuminated only by the roaring campfire by the communal Bedouin tent.

Of course, this striking environment can be enjoyed with a few more home comforts: the nearby Dana Guesthouse is cut into the high cliffs at the very edge of the valley and guests can bask in the same view with comfortable and stylish rooms that each feature a private balcony. 

Hiking and walking trails here are fantastic. Routes are available to suit all abilities and needs, from short strolls to full day (or even longer) hikes that weave through canyons, following rivers and exploring striped rock formations carved over millennia. Spot birds resting on the thermal vents, watch goat clamber elegantly across the environment and spot fossils in the rock beneath your feet.
