Fed up with the hustle and bustle of the city then catch your breath in Vake Park, a magnet for the locals. Join them in a stroll past fountains, catch a film in the open-air cinema and relax in the bars and restaurants. If the designer shops in Rustaveli Avenue aren't your thing, then hop on the metro to Didube for the sprawling city market where people flock from the countryside to sell a cornucopia of produce.

Allow plenty of time to discover this city of contrasts. Ramble through the Old Town with its profusion of houses rubbing shoulders - their balconies, draped in plants, almost touching over the narrow cobbled streets. Peer into tiny courtyards and admire the eclectic mix of orthodox churches, mosques and synagogues. Narikala Fortress sits above the Old Town. Get a good view of it from the botanical gardens below then head for elegant, wide, tree-shaded Rustaveli Avenue lined with shops, cafes and museums. Along the gorge of the Mtkvari River, buildings bathed in summer-long sunshine cling to the high, red cliffs precariously. Join the locals in a relaxing sulphur bath, indulge in a glass of Georgian wine and experience the culture in the Paliashvili Opera House.

All our Tbilisi city break prices include 3 nights accommodation with breakfast, return flights in economy class and all airport taxes.
