Whilst in Sarajevo make sure you sample the delicious Bosnian cuisine on offer at the restaurant Pod Lipom located in Baščaršija. There are several tables outside where you can taste cevapi – tasty spicy sausages served with onions in warm pitta bread - an ideal snack after a day snow-shoeing up the Bijelasnica Highlands!

Jajce City Breaks

Jajce is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s true hidden gems and well worth straying from the beaten path for. A somewhat economically deprived city, Jajce nevertheless boasts a rich cultural and architectural heritage that belies its small size, with a magnificent, hilltop citadel looming over a spiral of old Ottoman homes and other historic buildings such as a 3rd century Roman temple and the medieval St Luke’s Church which stands above the town’s catacombs. Jajce is also famed for the spectacular high waterfalls which gush over a 20 metre high drop where the Pliva River meets the Verbas.
