Palanga Holidays

Palanga, Lithuania's premier beach resort has a long sandy beach, backed by dunes and with the conservation of the landscape in mind, no beach properties or promenades have been built.

In the town of Palanga, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and funfairs to provide entertainment for all ages.

This part of Lithuania is known as the Amber Coast with 'Baltic Gold' amber being washed up on shore, especially after a storm - so you should not miss a visit to the fascinating Amber Museum set in a beautifully landscaped park.

From Palanga it is also possible to visit the Curonian Spit, which is a highlight of any trip to Lithuania. The sand dunes are spectacular, and it is eerie to think that there are as many as fourteen villages buried under the shifting sands.

The spooky 'Hill of Witches' is a must-see with its intricately wood-carved statues standing amongst dark whispering trees. The pretty village of Nida is an excellent place for lunch and to wander amongst the blue-painted wooden cottages surrounded by gardens of colourful flowers.
