Mostar City Breaks

Mostar is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s most popular sights – and deservedly so. This beautiful, oriental-flavoured city, with its enchanting cascade of old stone houses, cobbled streets and Ottoman architecture, is famed for its iconic Old Bridge (Stari Most). Originally built in 1566 by the Turks but destroyed by tank shelling in 1993, the bridge was finally rebuilt in 2004 and has since become an enduring and extremely photo-worthy symbol of the country’s resurgence since the war.

Evenings are the time when you can reclaim Mostar for yourself, after the coach loads of day-trippers go back to Croatia. The best views of the city and landmarks are definitely by night, so dine at one of the many restaurants on the banks of the river for spectacular panoramas.
