Whilst in the Crimea - I would certainly recommend visiting the Panorama Museum in Sevastopol. This incredible example of the famous battle was painted in 6 June 1855 to commemorate the Defence of Sevastopol during the Crimean War of 1854-1855 and restored in 1954 after suffering much damage in World War II. Housed in a totally circular building with a continuous painting around the inside walls. You stand in the centre whilst they play the sound of men at war during the Crimean War. The painting is brought to life with objects and guns etc protruding from the painting. I thought I was in the command bunker with all the fields spread in front of me!

Ukraine city breaks are among the most uniquely fascinating and culture-packed in the world. With a vast and varied landscape, from the stunning Carpathian Mountains in the West to the sparkling Black Sea coast in the South, it also a country blessed with outstanding natural beauty. An eclectic succession of powers and factions have laid claim to Ukraine since Kyiv Rus first settled here in the middle ages, translating into villages, towns and cities that are architecturally diverse as they are culturally distinct from each other.

There are a variety of city breaks in Ukraine to choose from, each offering a radically different perspective than the last; from the grandiose Kiev, to the classic beauty of Lviv, to the iconic and fun-loving Odessa. Visit Kiev and you will be astounded by the dazzling golden domes that dominate the skyline before delving deeper and discovering a beautiful city brimming with colourful churches, monasteries, museums as well as world-class shopping and cuisine.

Meanwhile, the ostensibly European Lviv, with its unique architectural blend encompassing Baroque, Renaissance and Gothic styles, is a more serene city known for its excellent art galleries and relaxed café culture. Lastly, Odessa is perhaps Ukraine’s most cosmopolitan city. With its bustling port, leafy streets lined with glorious, neo-classical buildings and famous Potemkin Steps, Odessa enjoys a reputation for being Ukraine’s most stylish and charming short break destination.
