8 day tour with 4 nights in Reykjavik and 3 nights in
Akureyi
This
Itinerary has been specially designed to combine the
Capital Cities of North & South Iceland. Individual
travel arrangements are made, thus retaining your freedom
to do as you please. During your stay in Reykjavik it
is possible to visit most of the major tourist attractions
in the South, either by bus, hired car or on an organised
excursion. Whilst staying in Iceland’s Northern
Capital - Akureyri, excursions to two major attractions
are included.

Fly London (Heathrow)/Keflavik. On arrival transfer
by the ‘Flybus’
Service to your accommodation in Reykjavik.

Transfer from Reykjavik to Akureyri:
OPTION
1: By AIR
(Journey Time 45 Minutes). Air Iceland operate
at least 4 flights daily from Reykjavik City Airport.
OPTION
2: By SCHEDULED BUS
(Journey Time 6 Hours). BSI operate a daily service
by the ring road with a number of short stops
en-route. Departing Reykjavik Bus Terminal 08:30,
arriving Akureyri Bus Terminal around 14:30.
OPTION
3: By HIGHLAND BUS
‘Kjolur’ Route (Journey Time 9 Hours.)
During July & August BSI operate a daily service
through Iceland’s interior, over the ‘Kjolur’
Highland Route taking you on a breathtaking journey
through a desert wilderness. Passing the great
Geysir area, Gullfoss Waterfall and Hveravellir
- a geothermal area with natural hot springs.
Departing Reykjavik Bus Terminal 09:00, arriving
Akureyri Bus Terminal 18:00. On arrival you will
be met and transferred to your accommodation in
Akureyri.

Akureyri
- Lake Myvatn - Akureyri
Guided tour by coach to one of Iceland’s most
fascinating and
enchanting northern regions - Lake Myvatn, famed
for its wonderous scenery. Leaving Akureyri, along
the fjord of Eyjafjordur, through the valley of
Frjoskadalur with its lovely meandering river via
the scenic Godafoss Waterfall onwards to Lake Myvatn.
A protected Nature Reserve - a region teaming with
wild foul and surrounded by mountains and deserts,
rich in natural elements such as lava fields, fissures
and mud pools - an absolute paradise for nature
lovers. |

Akureyri
- Husavik Whale Watching - Akureyri.
Guided tour to the delightful fishing village of Husavik
situated on the North Eastern shores, a typical Icelandic
town with its picturesque harbour. Husavik is without
a doubt the Whale Watching ‘Capital’ of
Iceland. In recent years North Sailing have enjoyed
an incredible 98.5% success rate for whale sightings.
Down at the harbour we board one of the boats ‘Knorrinn’
or ‘Haukur’ heading west across the bay,
excitement soon grips both passengers and crew on
the look out for whales. Minke whales are seen on
almost every excursion with some spectacular sightings
over the years.
Note: Whale Watching from Husavik is not
possible during the months of April & October,
therefore, an alternative excursion will be offered. |

Akureyri
- Reykjavik - UK
After breakfast, transfer to Akureyri Airport to
connect with a flight by Air Iceland to Reykjavik
City Airport. Upon arrival transfer to Reykjavik
City Air-Terminal (Beside Hotel Loftleidir) for
the ‘Flybus’ transfer back to Keflavik
International Airport to connect with your return
flight to the UK. |

Hotel Leifur Eiriksson is only a few minutes
walk from the city centre of Reykjavik, located
in the quiet part of the older city opposite the
spectacular Hallgrims-Church. The hotel is surrounded
by museums and galleries, a shopping area, various
restaurants, pubs and a swimming pool. The hotel
offers 47 rooms, all neatly furnished with private
bathroom shower and wc, telephone, radio and satellite
TV. Rooms are on the small side but perfectly
adequate. A buffet breakfast is served during
mornings. Light meals and drinks are available
24 hours from the snack bar. This small hotel
was opened in 1993 and is a family run tourist
class hotel.

located in a quiet green area just 1 km from the
Icelandic capital city's impressive Botanical
gardens. Clean and simple white wall, oak wood
furniture and soft furnishings in soft pastel

of 4 floors. The rooms are very spacious with
first class amenities. The top-class "Seven
Roses" Restaurant offers tasty Icelandic
dishes as well as international cuisine and are
