This new individual itinerary includes
a stay in Riga and visits different rural landscapes
in Latvia. Sigulda and the Gauja National Park is one
of the most picturesque areas in Latvia. Step back in
time to the Middle Ages, a time of romantic legends,
castles and heroic figures by visiting 13th-century
Turaida Castle, Gutmana Caves and the ruins of a Crusader
Castle. We recommend visiting the pretty medieval Hanseatic
town of Cesis before continuing on to Dikli Palace.
Staying in boutique hotels and manor
houses, we include car hire to allow you the freedom
to explore these rich regions.

Fly to Riga and transfer to hotel for 3 nights. |

Free day in Riga to explore at leisure. |

RIGA TO SIGULDA
Drive to Latvia’s Switzerland (51 kilometres),
otherwise known as Gauja National Park.

SIGULDA
Free day to explore the attractions of this area
including Turaida Museum Reserve, Sigulda bobsleigh
(the longest in Europe) and the pretty medieval
town of Cesis.

| Day 6 |
SIGULDA TO DIKLI PALACE
Drive to Dikli Palace (63 kilometres). Here you
can relax in the hotel and its grounds or go walking,
cycling, canoeing or horse riding.

| Day 7 |
DIKLI PALACE TO BAUSKA
Drive to Bauska (177 kilometres) in the Zemgale
region of Latvia also known as the “bread
basket” of Latvia. See the ruins of Bauska
Castle and stop at Rundale Palace, the most beautiful
baroque palace in the Baltics.
The palace is an outstanding example of the early
work of the Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo
Rastrelli, who also designed the famous Winter
Palace in St Petersburg. Check-in Mezotnes Pils
Manor for overnight stay. (Mezotnes Manor is a
popular choice and in the event of it being fully
booked an alternative will be offered).

Drive to Riga airport (60 kilometres), drop off
car and fly to UK.
