By
using the excellent bus connections, this unique individual itinerary allows you
to explore the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda before travelling along
the entire length of the Curonian Spit. A few nights are spent at the fishing
village of Nida before departing for Kaliningrad. Known as Königsberg until
the Soviets renamed it in 1946, Kaliningrad has been conquered by Teutonic Knights,
Prussian kings and Nazi soldiers. Today, a World War II German command-post bunker
serves as a museum, and the city’s Gothic cathedral and its Hansa Square
are reminders of an era long past.

Take bus to Kaunas (journey takes around 90 minutes and departures

Free day in Kaunas before bus to Klaipeda (journey takes around 3 hours). Check-in

Free day in Klaipeda to

Take morning
bus to Nida (journey takes around 90 minutes). Check-in hotel for 2 nights. |

Take mid-morning
bus from Nida to Kaliningrad. Transfer to hotel for 3 nights. | | Day

to include the Cathedral, the tomb of Immanuel Kant, the Amber Museum, old fortified
walls and gates. Rest of day at leisure. |

Optional full day tour to the Zamland
Peninsula including a visit to Yantarny, the site of the world’s only amber
mine and Baltiysk, the westernmost point of Russia and home to Russia’s Baltic
Fleet. Also included is a few hours in Svetlogorsk. |

Take day train to Vilnius. On arrival in Vilnius check-in to hotel for overnight stay. |
