Enjoy the mysterious land of legends and superstitions, unique art treasures, folklore and natural beauty.
This escorted individual itinerary will take you back in time – from the legendary and bloodthirsty Prince Vlad the Impeller in Transylvania to the
medieval splendours of cities such as Brasov, Sibiu (European Capital of Culture 2007) and Sighisoara – and will show you the beauties of this
country – from art gems such as Bucovina monasteries to the local artists painted eggs and crafts.

Itinerary
|
| Day 1 |
BUCHAREST TO BRASOV
Fly to Bucharest. Transfer to Brasov, Transylvania and
check-in at Casa Wagner for 2 nights and dinner.
If there is time, you will stop at Bran Castle en route
to Brasov. |
| Day 2 |
BRASOV
This morning is dedicated to the charming medieval
town of Brasov with its fine main square (Piata
Sfatului) and the Black Church. Then continue to the
fairytale Bran Castle and the fortress of Prejmer, a
UNESCO World Heritage Site.

| Day 3 |
BRASOV TO GURA HUMORULUI
After breakfast, drive to the beautiful region of
Southern Bucovina through Bicaz Gorges and along the
spectacular and breath-taking narrow road up the
mountains. Check-in at Casa Hilde guesthouse in Gura
Humorului for 2 nights. |
| Day 4 |
MONASTERIES AND THE SURROUNDING AREA
Spend the morning visiting the UNESCO listed Painted
Monasteries of Moldovita, Sucevita, Humor and
Voronet, and admire one of the most beautiful frescoes
in the region, the Last Judgement. In the afternoon
visit the house of a local artist and learn about the art
of painted eggs and the meaning of their symbols.
There will also be the opportunity to learn how to cook
some traditional dishes or how to dance to folk music.

| Day 5 |
GURA HUMORULUI TO SIGHISOARA
Today return to Transylvania and stop at the Dracula
Hotel at Bram Stocker’s Borgo pass for a coffee and
some stunning views of the valley below. Drive through
scenic landscapes to Sighisoara. Check-in at Casa
Saseasca for overnight stay.

| Day 6 |
SIGHISOARA TO SIBIU
Perched on top of a hill, the old city of Sighisoara is
considered a historical monument and a UNESCO
World Heritage Site, as it is one of the best preserved
medieval cities in Europe. During your visit, discover
the old roots of the region and its cultural and
commercial importance during the Middle Ages.
Continue on to Sibiu. Check-in at Hotel Imparatul
Romanilor for overnight and dinner.

| Day 7 |
SIBIU TO BUCHAREST
Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Olt Valley and stop at
Cozia Monastery, before reaching Bucharest. The city
tour includes the Palace of Parliament, the second
largest building in the world, and visit one of the city’s
orphanages, where you can meet the children and talk
to the orthodox priest who takes care of them. Check-in
at Hotel Opera for overnight stay and dinner. |

Day 8
|
FLY TO UK
Morning at leisure before transfer to the airport for
flight back to the UK.
