WHITE NIGHTS FESTIVAL

Stars of the White Nights Festival
Since 1993, under the instigation of the indefatigable conductor and director of the Kirov, Valery Gergiev, St Petersburg's famous Mariinsky Theatre has hosted the Stars of the White Nights festival every spring.

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Held since 1993, the International Film Festival St Petersburg - known as the "Festival of Festivals" - brings together the best of film festivals around the world in a cinematic showcase in the last week of June every year.

PUSHKIN FESTIVAL

On the first Sunday in June every year, lovers of Aleksandr Sergeyevich Pushkin from all over the world congregate at the Mikhailovskoe Estate, now the Pushkin Estate Museum. Pushkin (1799-1837) is Russia's greatest writer and arguably, along with Shakespeare, a contender for the greatest poet ever. The perfection of his verse, particularly in his amazing verse novel Evgeniy Onegin, can only be likened to the perfection of Mozart's music.
