Weekend
City Breaks in Eastern Europe
A 3 night
weekend break in Timisoara, Romania including flights
from £375 per person
Why not visit Timisoara on a weekend break? A city
of firsts; The first city in Europe to introduce public
electric lighting in 1884, the first city in Romania
to use public transportation by water in 1869, the first
city in Romania to use the first electric streetcars
in 1899 (an important one), the first city in Romania
to have a beer factory in 1718 and the city where the
1989 Romanian revolution started, a movement which overthrew
the communism regime.
Timisoara has possibly the most extensive old centre
in Romania. Fin de siecle architecture, Habsburg dwellings,
as well as medieval fortifications and bourgeois palaces.
Fine cafés, good restaurants, a friendly cultural
population and one of the best beers in Romania - this
is a city you must visit!
