Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are enhanced by three of the most enchanting capitals in Eastern Europe, and this itinerary provides the perfect introduction to each Baltic country by visiting all three. Although no more than six hours apart, each capital is highly individual in character and boasts an extraordinary wealth of historical buildings and an expanding cultural scene. Sampling the different atmospheres, flavours and customs will provide an invaluable insight into this captivating corner of Europe. The itinerary leaves you free to spend the days as you wish, however, we can recommend the must-see sights and book a variety of excursions. Fly to Vilnius. Transfer to the hotel and check in for three nights.
Spend the day exploring Lithuania’s capital. A city of churches with a steeple view on every corner, Vilnius has the largest Old Town in Europe, which has gained its place on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Discover a treasure trove of pristine winding streets and colourful baroque buildings (B)
On this free day in Vilnius perhaps take the funicular from the Lower to the Higher Castle to enjoy wonderful views across the rooftops or learn about the country’s tragic history at the Museum of Genocide Victims in the former KGB headquarters. (B)
Spend the morning at leisure before taking the bus to Riga. On arrival, check in to the hotel for three nights. (B)
Riga with its wonderful blend of medieval and Art Nouveau architecture is the largest and most cosmopolitan of all the Baltic capitals. The city’s parks separate the historic Old Town from the new town. Trendy bars and chic cafés line the cobblestone streets and the city has a thriving restaurant scene. (B)
On this free day in Riga why not explore the Soviet-style Central Market which is bursting at the seams with traders selling their wares. (B)
Spend the morning at leisure before taking the bus at midday to Tallinn. On arrival, check in to the hotel for three nights. (B)
Spend the day exploring Tallinn’s medieval Old Town where the delightful maze of cobbled streets is overlooked by towering 14th century church spires and proud merchant houses. (B)
For fantastic views of the city, climb the tower in the Town Hall and enjoy people watching in Town Hall Square – a location which transforms with the seasons. In summer outdoor cafés fill the space which plays host to medieval festivals and in winter it becomes home to a magical Christmas market. (B)

Thank you Jurate for all the arrangements you made for us. Transport worked well and hotels were good, especially the Hotel Justus in Riga (excellent, beautifully developed and decorated). Hotel positions were all excellent.
Once again our special thanks to Jurate. Her help and attention to detail during the Volcanic Ash episode reduced any anxiety to a minimum. We enjoyed our holiday, even though out time in Tallinn had to be cut short. The staff at the Justus Hotel in Riga were particularly helpful and caring.
We have found Jurate's helpfulness and suggestions invaluable. Despite temperatures down to minus 22, we found plenty to do. Our transfer at Riga worked well and hotels were ideally situated. Generally friendly, helpful hotel staff...a holiday to remember and savor.
