Tour Itinerary

Arrive Reykjavik
Arrive at keflavik airport and transfer to a 3-star hotel in Reykjavik.
South Iceland
After breakfast embark on a journey through Iceland's south coast. Marvel at huge thundering waterfalls, endless rolling valleys, beautiful black beaches, extraordinary glaciers and small villages with unique landscapes in between. Drive to the famous Eyjafjallajökull, home of the massive eruption that halted all European air travel in 2010 and explore two of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world: Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. See the two surrounding glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Myrdalsjökull if the weather is clear. Continue on to the coastal town of Vik and discover the black sand beach at Reynisfjara, the picturesque basalt column formations and the famous Reynisdrangar peaks rising from the sea. Head east to witness breathtaking landscapes of vast lava fields covered by fluffy moss and surrounding endless mountain ranges. (B)
Glacier Lagoon
This morning discover the magnificent Jökulsarlon glacier lagoon, home of massive floating icebergs. Jökulsarlon is also where two James Bond movies were filmed; a view to a kill and Die another Day, as well as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. During the drive, marvel at the land of ice and fire as it unfolds to create beautiful dramatic landscapes and view the numerous glacier outlets displayed by Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull.
After lunch travel to the roots of Fláajökull, a glacier tongue of Vatnajökull. Enjoy a guided walk towards the glacier and learn about the fascinating history of the area. Feel the energy from the glacier as you come up close to it and see its magnificent beauty. (B)
The Secret Lagoon
Embark upon a trip to the Secret Lagoon. Bathe in 38-40 degrees celsius and enjoy the natural surroundings and rising steam from the geothermal pools and a geyser which erupts every 5 minutes. After the relaxing bath in the Secret lagoon continue to discover the Golden Circle, witnessing some of Iceland’s most stunning sights. Watch as the Strokkur geyser shoots a column of water up to 30 metres into the air every 4-8 minutes in a thrilling display of nature’s forces. Marvel at the mighty Gullfoss waterfall, created by the river Hvítá, which tumbles and plunges into a crevice some 32 metres deep.
The Golden Circle tour also includes the historical and geological wonder of Thingvellir National Park, where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart at a rate of a few centimetres per year. (B)
Departure for UK
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK. (B)
