5 Day Itinerary
Arrive Belgrade and transfer to hotel for 1 night. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to taste a selection of varieties. Dinner at a traditional Serbian restaurant with live national music and food from the grill. (D)
Enjoy a delicious ‘burek’ meat pastry for breakfast before embarking on a sightseeing tour of Belgrade including a visit to the bustling Zeleni Venac vegetable market. Leave Belgrade for Novi Sad and check into the Salas 137 hotel for 2 nights. In the afternoon, enjoy a rural cooking class at a small farm using the vegetables bought earlier in the day. Learn the art of making North Serbian pies and sweets before preparing ‘breakfast cheese’ for the next morning. Evening entertainment of live national music and a tasting of regional wines. (B,L,D)
Sit down to a farmhouse breakfast of fresh pies and cheese prepared the previous night before taking a sightseeing tour of Novi Sad. Stop for some traditional cake at the Petrovaradin fortress and continue to a typical Serbian home in Sremski Karlovci for lunch. Continue sightseeing in Sremski Karlovci with a visit to the Honey Museum. Transfer to Kovacevic Wine Cellar in Irig and check in for 1 night. Afterwards, enjoy a workshop of wine tasting, dinner and bread baking lessons. (B,L,D)
After breakfast, depart for Zasavica – a unique nature reserve containing a diverse range of wildlife including many rare and endangered species. Spend the morning fishing on a lake in the reserve before preparing your ‘catch of the day’ at a morning fish soup cookery class. In the afternoon, enjoy a further workshop introducing recipes using freshwater fish. Overnight at Zasavica. (B,L,D)
Enjoy an early breakfast of homemade jam with pancakes or pastry before transferring to the airport for your flight back to the UK. (B)
