The following itinerary is the perfect trip for those wanting a more in depth tour to North Korea – most people who venture to the DPRK spend a week or less in the country, whereas this escorted eleven day tour (with an optional three day extension please contact us for details of this) will afford the visitor with a much more rewarding and in depth experience.

This trip takes in all the standard highlights of the country and adds to this various lesser visited sites not normally seen by the few tourists who venture to the DPRK each year, including unusual sites in/around Pyongyang and Mt. Myohyang and also the rarely visited rural sites in and around Haeju and Sariwon. For those who take the optional three day extension the itinerary will also include a visit to the east coast to take in Wonsan and the Kumgang Mountains.
The group will be limited to just 14 persons and will be escorted by a Tours Manager from Regent Holidays.

13 Day Itinerary
DAY 1
FLY TO PYONGYANG
Fly to Pyongyang on the Air Koryo flight from Beijing. On arrival meet with your tour leader and local guides for an introductory tour of Pyongyang before transferring to the Yanggakdo Hotel (where we will be based whilst in Pyongyang). Enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.
DAY 2
PYONGYANG TO NAMPO
Today visit some of the key sites
of Pyongyang, including the famous
Kim Il Sung Square and Mansudae
Grand Monument. Late this
afternoon, head to the Ryonggang
Hot Spa Hotel near the port city of
Nampo for an overnight stay.
DAY 3
NAMPO TO PYONGYANG
Visit the West Sea Barrage this
morning before returning to
Pyongyang via the Chongsan
Co-Operative Farm. Arrive in
Pyongyang and continue sightseeing
in the capital.
DAY 4
PYONGYANG TO HAEJU
Depart the capital this morning for
a 2 night trip away, exploring the
rarely visited rural areas in and
around the lesser known city of
Haeju, where the night will be spent.
DAY 5
HAEJU TO SARIWON
Continue touring this rural corner
of the country before heading to the
city of Sariwon, visiting livestock and
co-operative farms en route. This
afternoon, visit the Sariwon Folklore
Village and overnight in the March
8th Hotel.
DAY 6
PYONGYANG – NATIONAL HOLIDAY
Today is an important national
holiday in North Korea. On reaching
Pyongyang in the late morning enjoy
further sightseeing - the itinerary
will not be too rushed today to allow
for the possibility of enjoying any
special/surprise events taking place.
DAY 7
PYONGYANG TO KAESONG
Continue touring the capital
before heading south along the
Reunification Highway to the city of
Kaesong, near the South Korean
border. Here commence sightseeing
in the area, including a visit to the
“Wall of Division”. Overnight in the
Folk Customs Hotel.
DAY 8
PYONGYANG TO DMZ TOPYONGYANG
Continue touring Kaesong before
heading down to Panmunjom and
the DMZ, where we will be escorted
by the military down into the Joint
Security Area and onto the North/South border. Return to Kaesong for
lunch before returning to Pyongyang
for further sightseeing.
DAY 9
PYONGYANG TO MT. MYOHYANG
Further sightseeing in Pyongyang
before heading north to Mt.
Myohyang via Anju, Songam Cavern
and other lesser visited areas. Arrive
in Mt. Myohyang and overnight at the
newly renovated Hyangsan Hotel.
DAY 10
MT. MYOHYANG TO PYONGYANG
Visit the International Friendship
Exhibition and Pohyon Temple before
enjoying a picnic lunch at a suitable
spot. Return to Pyongyang for a two
night stay, via the Ryongmun Cavern.
DAY 11
PYONGYANG
Today is the last full day of the tour
for those not taking the three night
extension, and will be spent entirely
in Pyongyang visiting various sites,
including a kindergarten, school
and university.
DAY 12
DEPART TO BEIJING
Those leaving today will transfer to
the train station and depart on the
overnight train to Beijing.
DAY 13
ARRIVE BEIJING
This morning the train arrives 0833 in Beijing
