Why not try one of the many potato dishes when you are in Belarus? The best dish in my opinion is potato pancakes with sour cream called draniki – excellent when washed down with a local beer (half the price of imported Russian or Czech varieties) or a shot of Belarusian vodka, as Minsk distilleries are reputed to be amongst the best in the world!

Belarus Group Tours

Take a group tour to Belarus and gain a comprehensive insight into this fascinating country rich with historical and cultural gems and lasting relics of its Soviet past. Though Belarus’ reluctance to submit to more Western ideals following the collapse of the Soviet Union may cause it to appear a somewhat unashamedly archaic place, this stoic attitude only adds to its charm and makes it an intriguingly unique country to visit.

Explore the contradictory capital city, Minsk, where militia officers and KGB rub shoulders with youthful locals heading to one of the city’s many vibrant bars or cultural events, before learning about Belarus’ deep and turbulent history at sites such as the UNESCO-listed, medieval town of Mir and Khatyn, then admire the ancient cathedral and fortress at the country’s oldest town, Polotsk.
