When I lived in Kyiv I visited the National Museum of Chernobyl. Not the easiest to find but this museum does an excellent job of actually making you feel like you are at the site of the infamous nuclear accident. Road signs from towns and villages near Chernobyl greet you as you ascend the stairs, and as you descend the signs are crossed out to signify your departure. They do not get too many visitors so go along as there is a donation for the victims of this disaster.

Ukraine Group Tours

Ukraine group tours are a brilliant way to see more of what this picturesque and dramatic country has to offer beyond city breaks to Kiev, Lviv and Odessa. A country blessed with outstanding natural beauty as well as historic and charming towns, Ukraine is an exciting and beautiful place to explore in full.

Our group tours to Ukraine will show you the lesser-visited side of the country, such as the stunning Crimean Peninsula with its Mediterranean atmosphere and eclectic heritage. Take in Russian palaces, Byzantine cave cities and Genoese citadels set against a unique landscape of forested mountains, canyons and lush vegetation before exploring ancient towns replete with monuments, museums and monasteries. We also offer the chance to visit Russia as part of one of our Ukraine group tours; starting in grandiose Kiev, the Three Capitals tour continues to the majestic cities of St Petersburg and Moscow.

For something completely out of the ordinary take our 2011 Chernobyl tour and gain an in-depth insight into the Chernobyl story with an overnight stay in the town itself.
