region holiday cruise in Turkey from £190 per
person
The Blue Voyage
is a unique travel experience - an aspect of tourism
in Turkey, which is increasing in demand of late with
connoisseurs of outdoors and fun-leisure travel. It
consists of cruising in traditional hand-made wooden
sailing vessels known as "gullets" (wide-bodied
yachts with usually 4 to 12 cabins) around the lovely
unspoilt coves and bays of the southern Turkish coast.
Daily duration of cruising is usually not longer than
3 - 4 hours, and the rest of the day can be spent in
beautiful secluded bays with pine forests reaching into
the crystal waters. One also has the opportunity to
visit ruined cities of antiquity scattered along the
south coast and see unspoiled villages, enabling one
to come closer to the native people and their traditions.
Gulet cruises can either be arranged
for a whole group as private hire, or one can also rent
a cabin, thus sharing the gulet with other individuals
who are also looking for a different way of experiencing
the natural and ancient wonders of the Turkish coast.
The gulet cruising concept also lends itself very nicely
to incentive travel programmes.
The cabins are all equipped with a double
berth and private shower and wc with hot (when the main
engine is running) and cold water. There is an enclosed
saloon, a spacious sunbathing area, and a shady afterdeck
which is roomy and comfortable
Each vessel is manned by a captain and
crew who also prepare and serve all meals (wholesome),
wash the dishes and take care of sports and entertainment.
Available on board standard boats are snorkelling equipment,
fishing tackle, dinghy with outboard motor, stereo and
backgammon. Informality and team spirit is the name
of the game. The cruises commence and finish in Bodrum,
Antalya or Marmaris.

permitted to bring one's own food and beverages on board.
