Notes for Travellers:
All the castles in this itinerary are open for visitors, but the churches won't necessarily be open at the time you visit.

We strongly recommend bringing a pair of sturdy boots and a daysack, since some parts of the tour will involve some walking through the countryside.

Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Lviv. Transfer from airport, and check-in to the Dnister hotel. From here meet your guide and discuss the upcoming trip.
Day 2

Morning city tour of Lviv including Old town, elegant Opera & Ballet Theatre, churches, pharmacy museum . Walk to High Castle hill, which has breathtaking views of the city. Free time for lunch.

The days sightseeing will include a visit to the Museum of Folk Architecture (Skansen) in Lviv, an impressive collection of ethnic wooden crafts and a few old wooden churches.

Day 3

A drive to an old wooden church from 1697 in the village Kuty. Then on to Olesko - a castle and fortress from the XIV century. In the afternoon go to Zolochiv castle with a Chinese palace and museum and then a visit to the village Pidgiria with an old wooden church. Transfer to Ternopil, Halychyna hotel for overnight.

Day 4

After the breakfast the day starts with a visit to the castle in Zbaraz. From there drive to the village Derenivka and see its old wooden church before heading to Chortkiv town, where there are two old wooden churches dating back from 1630. Then to Kamianec-Podilskuj. Check-in to the Gala hotel.

Day 5

In Kamianec-Podilskyj the sight-seeing includes the impressive old castle fortress, with the river around. Then on to Hotin town to see the picturesque medieval castles on the river Dnister, and from there to Iaremche town in the mountains. Check-in to the hotel.

Day 6

In Iaremche, we will walk around and see a huge waterfall, and a market where one can find some of the best Carpathian handicrafts. Then a drive through the mountains on twisting roads that overlook the Tatariv and Vorohta villages. On the way, there will be a stop to see some old wooden churches. Then there will be a walking tour. In the evening return to Iaremche.

Day 7 After the breakfast transfer to Lviv. On the way back there is a stop in the town of Rohatyn to visit an old wooden church near a little river . Then a drive to the village Swirz to see a nice castle partially surrounded by a lake. From there on to Lviv. Check-in to the Dnister hotel again for a night.

Day 8

Free morning before transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK.
