Phnom Penh Holidays

Phnom Penh has seen many changes and hardships over the years and today it is an intriguing destination with an enterprising, cosmopolitan feel. Located at the confluence of three rivers, the Tonle Sap, the Bassac and the mighty Mekong, the city suffered greatly under the Khmer Rouge but has since bounced back and offers visitors a friendly, colonial city with wide city boulevards and a pretty riverside promenade.

Any stay in the capital must include a visit to the truly stunning Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda located within its walls and don’t forget the memorable and extremely moving Toul Sleng Genocide Museum for an insight into the hardships endured by the people of Cambodia during those dark years. End the day with a sunset stroll along the Tonle Sap riverbank along with a good number of the locals!) to enjoy food from the hawker stalls and watch the impromptu entertainment that often springs up.
