For the most striking displays of the northern lights travelling north is essential. In true Regent Holidays fashion, we've created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, far off the beaten track (and about as far north as you can get). Join us on this small group tour to Svalbard, Norway's far-flung Arctic archipelago.
This group tour, which we've recently reinvented and improved, starts with a two night stop-over in Norway's capital. Break up the journey and fill up on the culture and vibrancy that Oslo has to offer before delving deep into the contrasting remote darkness of the north.
In Svalbard, stays in Longyearbyen, one of the world's northernmost cities. Learn about the fascinating Arctic exploration and coal mining history of the area and explore the the snow-covered landscape by motorised snowcat and a dog sled. Throughout it all, keep an eye to the sky for the northern lights which can appear in the sky any hour of the day or night, thanks to the 24-hour polar night.
Discover Svalbard's striking scenery and experience what life is like at the top of the world on this incredible week long adventure.
Upon arrival into Oslo transfer to the city centre and the remainder of the day is free at leisure.
