This morning head to picturesque Taroko Gorge. The journey passes over the scenic elevated Suhua Highway which offers fabulous views of the coast. A stop will be taken on the journey at the towering Quingshui Cliffs. Arrive Taroko National Park and visit the Eternal Shrine and Swallow Grotto. Overnight Taroko. (B)

This morning embark on a journey along the Central Cross Island Highway, a scenic mountain road which passes rugged scenery. Stop en-route and visit the Mount Hehuan Visitor Centre before continuing onwards to pretty Sun Moon Lake. This journey skirts the lakeside offering great views of this iconic Taiwanese landmark. Visit Wen Wu Temple before spending the night at Sun Moon Lake. (B)

This morning visit the Holy Monk Shrine, Tehua Village and the Tse En Pagoda. Journey onwards to Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan to discover Anping Fort. Enjoy a walking tour of the ancient streets and spend the night in the city. (B)

Spend the morning exploring Chihkan Towers which dates back to 1653. Also visit the Confucius Temple which was the first of its kind in Taiwan. Enjoy a stroll around this peaceful area before continuing the journey to Kaohsiung. En-route visit the largest monastery in Taiwan, the Foguanshan Monastery and visit the main shrine and the Buddhist Museum. Enjoy a light vegetarian lunch before ending the day in Kaohsiung which is the largest city in southern Taiwan. The evening is free at leisure to relax or why not explore the bustling Liuho Night Market. (B/L)

Spend the morning visiting the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas plus the Spring and Autumn Pavilions. There will then be free time before driving further north to Lukang to visit the Lungshan Temple and the local market. En-route visit the Sanyi woodcarving village before returning to Taiwan airport for your return or onward flight. (B)
