Arrive into Reykjavik where you will be transferred to the Hotel Cabin by coach.
Please note an optional excursion to the Retreat Spa upon arrival can be arranged.
Today board the coach and drive to the Secret Lagoon, a beautiful geothermal pool where you can experience first-hand the part that hot springs have played in Icelandic culture. This is a truly authentic Icelandic experience without the crowds at the more famous Blue Lagoon. Sample traditional Icelandic cuisine in a light buffet dinner before heading back towards Reykjavik.
Your guides will hunt out the best places to see the northern lights, and lucky travellers will get to witness this natural wonder flickering high above the landscape over their heads. (B,D)
As you follow the famous Golden Circle in your coach, wonder at the incredible beauty of Þingvellir National Park and the roaring might of Gulfoss waterfall. Next head to the Geysir geothermal area where you can witness explosive geysers blowing their water high into the sky.
After a busy day of sightseeing, Laugarvatn Fontana wellness centre is the perfect place to stop and unwind. Built over a geothermal area at the edge of the lake, the centre offers healthy, locally-sourced food, steam rooms, hot pools, mineral baths and of course a fantastic view over the lake. (B)
Start the day by journeying to Deildartunguhver hot spring, whose waters are so powerful they heat entire towns and areas nearby. You might also spot a rare plant that grows here and nowhere else in Iceland. Move on to the Hraunfossar lava waterfalls.
The next stop is the mighty Víðgelmir lava cave, one of the most spectacular in Iceland. Formed by a volcanic eruption in around 900BC, it is a breath-taking sight. After a full day's sightseeing, relax into Húsafell thermal pool and ease any aches away. (B)
