Experience winter in Iceland on this 5-day fly-drive tour. Visit incredible natural wonders in the south and search for the elusive northern lights at nightfall. Discover waterfalls, black sand beaches, erupting geysers, and spend time exploring some of the Iceland's famous National Parks.

DAY 1
FLY TO REYKJAVIK
FLY TO REYKJAVIK

Arrive in Reykjavik and pick up your car at Keflavik airport. Drive to Selfoss area and overnight here for two nights. (110 Km)
 

DAY 2
SOUTH COAST
SOUTH COAST

In the morning, travel along the south coast and visit Seljalandsfoss and the nearby Skogarfoss waterfalls, which drops a good 60m over the green cliff after tumbling all the way down from the glacier above. A wide path goes up to the base of the falls and allows you a peek behind the roaring echo. Perhaps embark on an optional glacier walk on Sólheimajökull to explore a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses, and learn more about these disappearing giants. In the afternoon, take a stroll on the black lava beach at Reynisfjara and enjoy a great view from Cape Dyrholaey. Overnight in Selfoss area. (B) (260 Km)

 


 

 

 

DAY 3
GOLDEN CIRCLE
GOLDEN CIRCLE

Visit some of Iceland‘s best known natural attractions. Unearth the famous Gullfoss waterfall and explore the Geysir hot spring area, where Strokkur erupts every 10-15 minutes. In the afternoon, reach Thingvellir National Park, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this incredible site is remarkable for its geology and it was here the Viking established their parliament in 930AD. Why not embarking on an optional snorkelling experience in the Silfra fissure. Float through Big Crack, Silfra’s narrowest section, where the continental plates are so close you can almost touch them, continue to the Silfra Hall and enter the Silfra Cathedral. Overnight in Reykjavik for two nights. (B) (200 Km)

 



 

DAY 4
REYKJANES AREA
REYKJANES AREA

Today explore Reykjanes Peninsula. Discover Krisuvik geothermal area, Gunnuhver hot spring and Reykjnesta bird cliff. Perhaps, visit the famous Blue Lagoon for a dip in its mineral rich waters, known for its positive effects on the skin. Overnight in Reykjavik. (B) (100 Km)

 


 

DAY 5
FLY TO THE UK

Return the hire car to the airport and fly back to the UK. (B) (50 km)
