Tucked away in a remote patch of Lappish wilderness, just a 45-minute drive from Rovaniemi, is Lapland’s first hotel that is geared towards adults, Beana Laponia. Bordering two picturesque Arctic rivers, this intimate hideaway has just 11 bespoke rooms, all elegantly designed. The warm and personable owners have over 250 enthusiastic husky dogs and a range of safaris start from the hotel along picturesque private trails.

Fly to Lapland’s capital and transfer to Beana Laponia for four nights. Each room is individually designed and comfortably furnished, and guests can benefit from use of an outdoor hot tub for an evening soak under the stars.
In the evening enjoy an Northern Lights excursion into the wilderness and enjoy hot drinks around a camp fire under hopefully the watchful eye of the aurora borealis. (D)
Meet some of Lapland’s most famous inhabitants with a morning visit to a nearby reindeer farm before enjoying a 3km ride through the Arctic wilderness. In the afternoon enjoy a guided snowshoe hike into the forests with a guide. Later return to the hotel and perhaps make use of the toboggans and kick-sleds available to guests. Finally, relax and enjoy a private traditional Finnish sauna. (B, D)
Meet the sled dogs near the hotel, and embark upon a 3-hour husky safari. Spend the morning rushing through the frozen landscapes passing trees coated in soft white snow to the soundtrack of the dogs’ excitable panting breath and rhythmic footsteps. (B, D)
