Enjoy the highlights of South Iceland's natural wonders on an excursion around the Golden Circle. Stop at Thingvellir National Park, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its fascinating natural beauty and spectacular geological features. Here the first Icelandic parliament was established over 1,000 years ago. Visit the Geysir geothermal field to find bubbling mud pools and witness Strokkur geyser erupting into the sky and, after lunch, see the mighty Gullfoss waterfall plunge into a 32m crevice. Continue to Fridheimar - a geothermal greenhouse farm - before reaching the Eldhestar riding center to enjoy a popular horse show about the Icelandic horse. Return to Reykjavik around 18:30pm and spend your evening at leisure. (B,L)
In the morning, embark on a guided city tour of Reykjavik. See the highlights of Iceland's capital and visit its Whales of Iceland museum. Continue to the lava town of Hafnarfjordur and experience a Viking lunch while listening to traditional Icelandic folk songs at a famous local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the open-air museum of Arbaejar and learn more about how Icelanders lived in the past. Return to your hotel in Reykjavik around 15:30pm.
At around 17:15pm transfer from the hotel to the Harpa and enjoy a festive 4-course gala dinner.
