Explore the islands of the beautiful Luleå archipelago. Do as the locals do and travel across the pack ice on snowmobile trails and learn about the nature and local history. Your guide will make regular stops for photos and hot drinks and you will be treated to lunch cooked over an open fire. If conditions are right, it is possible to reach the idyllic fishing village of Brändöskär, dating back to the 17th Century. Tonight, put on a pair of snowshoes and go on an evening snowshoe walk in search of the aurora borealis. Learn how to photograph the aurora and how to track signs of wildlife in the snow, then relax by an open fire and enjoy a wilderness dinner. (B,L,D)
Take a trip to the nearby kennel and meet the team of energetic huskies that will take you on an exhilarating dog sledding adventure. Learn to drive the team of huskies through the forest and lake trail while taking in the snowy scenery. Tonight, enjoy a candle lit dinner on the frozen Arctic sea at the Aurora Hideaway - a floating restaurant on skis! The three-course meal will be prepared over an open fire and served in the cosy cabin. There will be plenty of opportunities to go outside, watch for the northern lights or enjoy a snowshoe walk while taking in all the magic of the frozen north. (B,D)
