Explore Finland's vibrant capital before travelling up north of the Arctic circle through Finnish Lapland, across Norway’s Finnmark region and on to Tromsø on this incredible, 11-day arctic adventure - ideal for the northern lights seeker.
By day, discover spectacular landscapes as you voyage through deep fjords, across arctic tundra and past towering mountain peaks. By night, set off into the remote countryside in search of the elusive northern lights.
Along the way, try your hand at mushing a dogsled, learn about Sami culture, and stand at the edge of Europe at the North Cape plateau.
Enjoy a variety of accommodation, including the opportunity to see the northern lights from your bed with 1-night spent in a glass villa and 2-nights in an aurora cabin. The brave can even opt to spend a night at an Igloo hotel, for the ultimate Arctic experience!

Fly from the UK to Helsinki and make your own way into the city to check in to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure, before meeting the tour leader and fellow travellers.

Discover the capital of Finland on a 3-hour city tour. The local guide will show you the most famous sights including the Senate Square, Helsinki Cathedral, Uspenski Cathedral, the Olympic Stadium and Parliament. See the Sibelius monument, one of Helsinki’s most famous statues and visit the unique Temppeliaukio Church, also known as the Church in the Rock.

This morning, walk across the street to Helsinki Central Station and board the northbound train towards Kemi. Journey through magical landscapes with endless snow-covered forests and lakes covered with ice. Arrive into Kemi in the late afternoon and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy dinner at the hotel and spend the night in a glass villa with a view of the starry northern sky.

Enjoy the morning at leisure in Kemi, with the opportunity to take an optional snowmobile safari or husky safari. In the afternoon, transfer to the port of Kemi and board the majestic Arctic Icebreaker Sampo vessel that will take you on a truly unique cruise, crushing through the thick ice on the Gulf of Bothnia. Travelling further north through Finnish Lapland and towards the Arctic Circle, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in Rovaniemi before continuing to Saariselkä.

Embark on a husky safari through the snowy forests and fells. Driving a team of huskies over the snow is an experience you will never forget. Tonight visit an Aurora Camp by one of the local lakes and warm up in the cosy hut by the fire with a warm drink. The guide will prepare a traditional Lapland midnight snack and if you're lucky, witness the northern lights dance across the sky.

Depart by private coach for Inari and visit the Siida Sami Museum to learning about traditional Lappish Sami culture. Continue north-west before crossing the border into Norway to arrive at Karasjok, the Sami capital and home of the Sami parliament, Samediggi.

This morning, head north and travel through the North Cape tunnel to reach Magerøya Island and the North Cape itself. Here you’ll find the iconic globe sculpture and you can stand with your feet on the very edge of Northern Europe. Arrive into Honningsvåg, the northernmost city in Norway in time for dinner.

Head south through the staggering 123-kilometre long Porsanger Fjord and on to Alta, the City of the Northern Lights. Visit the Alta Museum to learn all about this mysterious phenomenon before enjoying a free afternoon to explore the town or book an excursion. This evening, consider upgrading your hotel to a night at the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel, Norway’s the world’s northernmost ice hotel.

Head through scenic arctic fjords before arriving in Tromsø, the former starting point for many North Pole expeditions. Enjoy free time to explore Norway's vibrant northern capital. In the evening, embark on a northern lights safari to search for the aurora borealis, which includes a light evening meal.

Enjoy a day at leisure. From Tromsø it is easily possible to admire the snow covered scenery whilst being pulled by a herd of reindeer, set sail on a whale watching cruise on the open sea, or even try your hand at snowmobiling or cross country skiing.
