By day, discover spectacular landscapes as you voyage through deep fjords, across arctic tundra and past towering mountain peaks.
By night, set off into the remote countryside in search of the elusive northern lights. Try your hand at mushing a dogsled, learn about Sami culture, and stand at the edge of Europe at the North Cape.
If you are brave enough, you can even opt to spend a night at an Igloo hotel!
These are guaranteed departure group tours operated in conjunction with our Norwegian partners and are not exclusive to Regent clients. They operate with a minimum of 1 and maximum of 20 persons.
Today, embark on a husky safari through the snowy forests and fells. Driving a team of huskies over the white, shimmering snow is an experience you will never forget. In the evening you will visit an Aurora Camp by one of the local lakes. Here you warm up in a cos y hut by the fire, enjoy a warm drink and prepare a traditional Lapland midnight snack. If you're lucky and the sky is clear you may even experience the fascinating northern lights. (B, D)
After breakfast, travel to Inari and visit the Siida Sami Museum to begin a day learning about traditional Lappish Sami culture. Continue north west before crossing the border into Norway to arrive at Karasjok, the Sami capital and home of the Sami parliament, Samediggi. (B,D)
This morning head north and travel through the North Cape tunnel to reach Magerøya Island and the North Cape itself. Here you’ll find the iconic globe sculpture and you can stand with your feet on the very edge of Northern Europe. (B,D)
Head south through the staggering 123-kilometre long Porsanger Fjord, and on to Alta. Visit the Alta Museum to learn all about this mysterious phenomenon before enjoying a free afternoon to explore the town or book an excursion. This evening, we suggest upgrading your hotel room to a night at the Sorrisniva Igloo hotel, Norway’s largest and the world’s northernmost ice hotel. (B)
Head through scenic arctic fjords before arriving in Tromsø, the former starting point for many North Pole expeditions. Enjoy free time to explore the ‘Paris of the north.' Perhaps climb aboard the Fjellheisen aerial tramway to ascend to a mountain-top viewpoint overlooking the city. In the evening, embark on a northern lights safari to search for the aurora borealis, which includes a light evening meal. (B,D)
Enjoy a day at leisure. From Tromsø it is easily possible to admire the snow covered scenery whilst being pulled by a herd of reindeer, set sail on a whale watching cruise on the open sea, or even try your hand at snowmobiling or cross country skiing. (B)
This morning, check out of your hotel and transfer by shuttle bus to the Tromsø Airport for your flight to the UK. (B)
