Icebergs, glaciers, hot springs and volcanoes are plentiful in Iceland, being one of the most geologically young and active areas in the world. This tour offers the perfect opportunity to witness and experience the marvels of Mother Nature in its purest form, exploring the main attractions of South Iceland, including the Westman Islands.
Discover wonders such as Strokkur geysir, Eyjafjallajökull volcano, Gullfoss waterfall and Vatnajökull glacier, as well as the magnificent natural landscape that surrounds them.

Arrive at Keflavík airport and transfer to your hotel in Reykjavík. Wander around Iceland’s cultural capital which boasts dozens of fine restaurants, bars, museums and galleries.
Optional excursions: Whale Watching from Reykjavík (3-3.5 hours)
Depart Reykjavik and travel along the south coast to Landeyjarhöfn harbour and then on to the pier at Bakkafjara. En route visit the Lava Centre - an interactive, high-tech educational exhibition depicting volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland over millions of years - and stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
Board the ferry to Vestmannaeyjar (the Westman Islands), one of Iceland’s most distinctive locations and home to an abundance of wildlife, particularly birds. Explore the extraordinary volcanic landscape of Heimaey, the largest island in the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago, and the most populated island off the Icelandic coast. Visit windy Stórhöfði and enjoy fantastic views from the top of the ridge. Walk up to the crater of a recently erupted volcano, explore the flora of a new lava field and visit Eldheimar museum. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to explore the island at leisure. Overnight in the Westman Islands depending on weather conditions. (B)
Take the ferry back from the Westman Islands and travel further on through fertile farmland and glacial rivers before reaching the spectacular Skógafoss waterfall. Embark on a soft glacier hike on Sólheimajökull glacier or enjoy an easy kayak tour in a natural lagoon that flows out from Sólheimajökull. Continue to the black sands of Reynisfjara beach and be amazed by the powerful waves and amazing basalt column features carved by the powerful ocean. Overnight in Vik area. (B)

Visit Vatnajökull National Park, one of Iceland’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty. The area is dominated by incredible views of mighty Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. Cross Eldhraun lava fields before reaching Skaftafell, a beautiful glacier-ringed valley in Vatnajökull National Park. Continue to Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, where huge icebergs float and grind together in the deep waters, and embark on a zodiac boat tour. Return to Vík for a stroll along the black sandy beach. Optional excursions: Evening Black Beach Horseback Riding (1.5 hours)
Head for the Geysir geothermal fields and view steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and the famous Strokkur geyser, a hot spring that spouts every few minutes. Continue to one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls, Gullfoss, before reaching the popular Þingvellir National Park, where the ancient parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland’s largest natural lake, Þingvallavatn. Late afternoon head back to Reykjavík for overnight stay. (B)
