Barnaul to Ulaanbaatar Tour (17 Days)

Holidays in Russia & Mongolia - Tour itineraries

A 17 day tour through Russia into Mongolia.

Whilst we continue to focus on our well-known destinations, we are always researching exciting new areas and itineraries. At Regent we respect and value our customer’s advice and input, taking this into consideration we are offering a reconnaissance trip to the Altai region in Russian and overland into Mongolia.

This 17 day overland tour leads from Barnaul in the Russian Altai, across the Mongolian frontier near Tsaganuur and the Mongol steppe to the capital of Ulaanbaatar. Along basic tracks and roads this fascinating journey will give unforgettable memories of the stunning natural beauty of the region and the peoples who call it home. With add on arrangements it is possible to begin this journey in Moscow, and finish in Beijing - making this a very unique variant on the well trodden Moscow - Beijing "Trans-Sib" route.

Suggested Itinerary
Day 1 Upon Arrival in Barnaul we will enjoy a morning city tour of Barnaul before transferring to Srotski Village. From here we will transfer 430km to Teletskoe Lake, enjoying en-route an introduction from our guide to the Altai region. We will also have our 1st meal as a group here, lunch in the city of Biysk. On arrival at the lake, which is 78km long and has a maximum depth of 353m we will check in at the Teletskoe Tourist Complex, where we will stay for two nights.
