City breaks in Belgrade, Serbia with Regent Holidays

Belgrade City Breaks - Serbia 2008

3 night city breaks in Belgrade from £345 per person including flights.

Belgrade is now firmly back where it belongs, at the heart of Europe. Fortunately, the sole evidence now of its many conquerors and former despots is in its architecture. Name a style from the 17th century or from the 20th century, and it will be there.

Yet Belgrade is more than just its buildings; the Danube and its hilly surroundings are as important as the city itself. The Old Town is compact enough for walking everywhere and cars are banned from many of its streets to ensure this is enjoyable.

Regent recommends...during summer months, taking an excursion on the Romantika steam train, which travels from Belgrade to Sremska Karlovci, near Novi Sad. The Romantika leaves Belgrade at 0830 in the morning and returns at 1950. Sremska Karlovci is an attractive historic town on the banks of the Danube.
