North Koreans generally love table tennis – proposing an international tournament to be played in your hotel will likely be very popular, and whilst this is good for international friendship don’t be too upset by what will be your inevitable crushing defeat!

Places of Interest in North Korea

About North Korea

Twenty-five years after Regent's first group entered North Korea, visitors to this perplexing country still find it as fascinating. As the leading UK experts on North Korea we work closely with the authorities to develop programmes which push the boundaries for tourism here.

Part of the fun of a visit to North Korea is to expect the unexpected, so go with the flow and you will be rewarded with an intriguing tour. Appreciate Pyongyang's massive main square, where military parades are held, visit the captured US spy boat, USS Pueblo, tour the sets of the film studio and ride the impressive chandelier-lit metro. Pay your respects to the 20m-tall statue of Kim Il Sung, visit his former home and mausoleum at the Kumsusan Memorial Palace and meander through the endless corridors of the International Friendship Exhibition which houses the gifts given to him and his son, Kim Jong Il.

A highlight is Panmunjom in the DMZ where you gaze across the border at the stony-faced South Korean guards and may even enter one of the huts that straddles the border. Learn about life on a co-operative farm and make sure you buy some propaganda as a memento of your visit.

Please note that Regent Holidays has never had to cancel a group tour to North Korea for the last 10 years - we operate all our of group tours and are one of the few companies who can arrange individual travel to North Korea. We are the only specialist tour operator to North Korea who offer full financial protection with ATOL and ABTA.

Regent Holidays wishes to offer our deepest condolences to the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for the loss of the Dear Leader Kim Jong Il, who died on the 19th December 2011.

About Our Tours...

Our tours to North Korea include all meals, transport and accommodation within the country, and visitors can generally choose at the end of their tour whether they wish to return to Beijing by air or train (a supplement is payable to depart by air). In addition, we include the North Korean Visa fee*, and for those living in the UK/EU we include registered/secure dispatch of your passports back to you.
