| Suggested Itinerary |
| Day 1 | Depart London Heathrow
Terminal 4 on the British Airways flight to Tehran. |
| Day 2 | Arrive Tehran
at 0620. Here you will be met by your guide and driver for your transfer to the
city centre and your Hotel. After a morning rest you will be met for an afternoon
tour of the bustling capital. Visits will include the National Museum of Iran,
Ceramic and Glassware Museum, Carpet Museum. (Please note that on Mondays different
museums would be visited). | | Day 3 | This
morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Shiraz.
Upon arrival in Shiraz and transferring to your hotel enjoy a brief rest before
commencing an afternoon tour of the city, to include the Narenjestan Garden, Nasir
Ol Molk Mosque, Khan Theological School, Mausoleum of Hafez (one of the most famous
Iranian poets) and the Bazaar. | | Day
4 | Today we visit famous Persepolis, the
ancient city and finest legacy of the Achaemenid Empire. Before returning to Shiraz
for the flight to Esfahan also visit Naqsh
E Rajaj, Naqsh E Rostam and the Koran Gate and tomb of Khajo Kermani. Upon arrival
in Esfahan in the evening you will be met by your
guide and driver for the transfer to your hotel. | | Day
5 | Today enjoy a full day tour of Esfahan,
the jewel of ancient Persia and one of the finest cities in the Islamic world.
The tour will include highlights such as Royal (Nagsh E Jahan) Square, Iman and
Sheikh Loftullah Mosques, Ali Qapu Palace and the Bazaar. Pressing on, visit the
Armenian quarter and Vank Cathedral, Chehen Sotun Palace, Jame Mosque and the
stunning Si O Se and Khaju Bridges. | |
Day 6 | Today drive to Tehran via the attractive
oasis city of of Kashan. En route it is also possible to stop in Qom
for a look at the outside of the Holy Shrine. The night will be spent in Tehran
before tomorrow's flight to Tabriz. |
| Day 7 | This morning transfer to the airport
for the short flight to Tabriz. Upon arrival in Tabriz
enjoy an afternoon tour of the city, with visits to the Azerbaijan Museum, Blue
Mosque, Arg E Alishan and Tabriz's famous Bazaar. | |
Day 8 | Head east today to Astara,
a coastal resort situated right on the border with Azerbaijan. On route we will
visit Ardebil and enjoy a tour of this city and its
most famous site - the complex of Sheikh Safi Ardebil. The journey will also afford
visits to Sar E Ein spa before arriving in Astara. | | Day
9 | This morning depart the hotel and transfer to the border crossing with
Azerbaijan. Here, part with your Iranian guides and cross the border on foot.
Upon arrival in Azerbaijan at approximately 1100 you will be met by your guides
and start the journey to Baku. En route to Baku stop
in the afternoon for a visit to Qobustan, home of some of the worlds finest
prehistoric petroglyphs. Upon arrival in Baku you will be transferred to your
centrally located hotel, the Absheron, for a three night stay. |
| Day 10 | This morning you will be met by your
guide for a half day city tour of Baku, introducing
you to this fascinating and rapidly developing city. In the afternoon you will
be free toe explore Baku at your leisure from your centrally located hotel. |
| Day 11 | This morning you will be met by
your guide for a half day tour of the Absheron Peninsula,
introducing you to some of the fascinating sites of this historically rich and
diverse region. In the afternoon you will be free to enjoy your last day in Azerbaijan. |
| Day 12 | This morning transfer to the airport
for the British Airways flight to London. |
