City Breaks in Moscow, Russia with Regent Holidays

Moscow City Breaks - Russia 2008

3 night city breaks in Moscow from £450 per person including flights.

Forget the forbidding stereotypes, Moscow is buzzing with renewal and restoration. The golden Kremlin domes continue to glitter but GUM no longer houses a gloomy collection of shoddy goods, but a vast array of designer boutiques.

Since its foundation, Moscow has suffered at the hands of invading hoards, devastating fires and stifling regimes, but has always succeeded in re-creating itself. The exhibits in the Armoury bear witness to Russia's desire for culture and refinement. Old Arbat has reverted to its Bohemian ambience and Sparrow Hills (formerly Lenin Hills) still offer the best city panorama.

A weekend is scarcely long enough to scratch the surface of Moscow's treasures.

Regent recommends...our Soviet History Tour of Moscow by metro. This full day tour visits a selection of sights and monuments connected to the former Soviet Union including the Kremlin, Red Square, lunch at the former KGB canteen, which is now a restaurant lavishly decorated with KGB memorabilia. In the afternoon visit the Museum of the Frontier Guards.
