Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
FLY TO REYKJAVIK
Harpa Concert Hall - Iceland

Fly to Reykjavík, Iceland's picturesque capital. Transfer by shared coach from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík Harbour and board the M/S Seaventure. The M/S Seaventure docks in old Reykjavík harbour in the heart of the city, a five-minute stroll from the main squares, shopping and dining. In the evening, sail out of the harbour on board the M/S Seaventure. (D)

DAY 2
REYKJAVIK TO SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA
Arnarstapi village - Iceland

In the morning, reach the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, often called "Iceland in miniature." This picturesque region boasts a wealth of landscapes, including the bird-rich Breiðafjörður Bay and the imposing Snæfellsjökull glacier. Snæfellsjökull glacier crowns a 700,000-year-old dormant volcano, a geological marvel that was featured in Jules Verne's renowned novel ‘’Journey to the Centre of the Earth’’. (B,L,D)

Optional Excursions: Journey to the Centre of the Earth (Lava cave exploration); Snaefellsnes Peninsula bus sightseeing.

DAY 3
SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA TO ISAFJORDUR
Ísafjörður - Iceland

Continue to Ísafjörður, the 'capital' city of the West Fjords. Iceland's West Fjords are one of the most remote and beautiful parts of the country, where the fjords and mountains seem to stretch on endlessly. Tiny villages perch by the water and cliffs which are home to nesting seabirds that rise sharply from the sea. (B,L,D)

Optional Excursions: Dynjandi Waterfall by bus; Nature & Culture of the West Fjords by bus; West Fjords sightseeing by off-road bus.

DAY 4
ISAFJORDUR TO HUSAVIK
ISAFJORDUR TO HUSAVIK

Reach the town of Siglufjördur. Opt for an optional visit to the local herring museum, and learn more about the golden age of the "herring boom". In the afternoon, stop at the small island of Flatey to observe the local bird life and, in the evening, sail towards Húsavík, the whale capital of the north. (B,L,D)

Optional Excursions: Herring Rush (Herring Museum visit); Hvanneyrarskal valley hike; Siglufjördur boat tour.

DAY 5
HUSAVIK
HUSAVIK

The town of Húsavík sits on the eastern shore of Skjálfandi Bay, also known as the 'Whale Capital of Iceland'. Today, perhaps embark on a whale-watching tour or explore the so-called Diamond Circle by bus. (B,L,D)

Optional Excursions: Whale watching; Flight above the highlights of Northern Iceland; Diamond Circle by bus.

DAY 6
HUSAVIK TO SEYDISFJORDUR
Seyðisfjörður - Iceland

Continue to the East Fjords of Iceland and reach Seyðisfjörður, a pictureque town surrounded by steep mountains and beautiful sea views. Today's optional activities include seal spotting, horseback riding, and visiting the beautiful sights of the East Fjords. (B,L,D)

Optional Excursions: Horseback Riding; Natural Beauty of the East by bus; Hike in the mountains.

DAY 7
SEYDISFJORDUR TO DJUPIVOGUR
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon - Iceland

The fishing village of Djupivogur is today’s starting point for exciting optional excursions. Explore Vatnajökull glacier, set off on a jeep tour or take a boat trip in the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. (B,L,D)

Optional Excursions: Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon by bus; Kayak tour; Adventurous Super Jeep Tour.

DAY 8
DJUPIVOGUR TO WESTMAN ISLANDS
Puffin - Iceland

Located off Iceland’s South Coast, the Westman Islands were formed by submarine volcanic eruptions around 10,000 years ago. Perhaps go ashore on Heimaey, the only inhabited island, where half-buried houses remain from a violent 1973 eruption, embark on a thrilling ATV tour or Volcano Museum Eldheimar. (B,L,D)

Optional Excursions: Pompeii of the North by bus; ATV tour; Volcano hike.

M/S Seaventure

The M/S Seaventure was specifically designed for extraordinary moments. This small ship (max. 164 passengers) is incredibly agile and manoeuvrable making a change of course effortless for a rare wildlife sighting. The M/S Seaventure has been assigned the highest ice class for passenger ships. A greater density of steel plates in the hull and a massive stem are just two of the elements that allow the expedition ship to glide safely through the waters.
