EXCURSIONS
Today we provide a selection of three different excursions you can take (please
choose at time of booking).
Option 1 Tour of Sarajevo
Environs: In the morning drive to the surrounding hills and villages for
a panoramic view of the city. We include a traditional lunch at Biban Restaurant
set amongst the hills above the city. Also included are some war-related sites,
such as the Tunnel Museum. This private museum shows part of the tunnel, built
underneath the airport in order
to get provisions to besieged Sarajevo and
provided a lifeline for many inhabitants.
Option
2 Kraljeva Sutjeska: Visiting this tiny, ancient town is like taking
a step back in time. Here, explore the Franciscan church and monastery with its
well-stocked library and wander amongst sleepy houses and stop at one of the oldest
mosques in Bosnia.
Option
3 Lukomir Village: An excursion to Lukomir, a remote authentic Bosnian
village, which can only be reached by a 21/2 hour drive from Sarajevo with the
last 45 minutes on a very rough road. Here, you will be welcomed at one of the
family’s houses for a typical home-made lunch – a unique experience,
allowing a deeper understanding and appreciation of another part of Bosnian culture. |
