One of my favourite restaurants in Kyiv is certainly Khutorok. This wooden paddle-steamer is moored on the Dnipro River. The interior is all kitsch and decked out in Carpathian-style decor. On the decks, you can sit with a drink and if it gets a little cold, don't worry as the waiters bring out warm blanets - very cozy!

Odessa City Breaks

Receive a warm welcome from the friendly citizens of relaxed Odessa and enjoy its pleasant climate. Promenade along Deribasivs’ka Street with its glorious buildings, monuments, shops, restaurants and bars and then descend steep Potemkin Steps. Check out Shevchenko Park and Vorontsov’s Palace, both with views of the sparkling Black Sea. Roam the catacombs under the city before descending by cable car to the white sands of Otrada Beach. Banquet on fresh fish in a shore-side restaurant before taking in a performance in the Baroque and Rococo Opera and Ballet Theatre. The locals party late into the night in the pubs and clubs lining the shore.

Regent Recommends...

Ponder the sheer artistry of the icons with their unsmiling faces of saints on rich gold backgrounds. The Museum of Icons is a unique private collection of Ukrainian icons, many dating back to the 15th century, together with paintings by the naïve folk artist, Maria Priymachenko, who was thought of as a genius by Picasso, no less.

Odessa

Beach or city break...?

Odessa has it all! The museums and restaurants of a city and within 15 minutes walk, trolleybus ride or quick taxi journey - a choice of beaches. So join the locals and head to some of Odessa's beaches. Arcadia Beach is busy and great for people watching with plenty of outside bars and restaurants. Otrada Beach is one of our favourites, where you can take the cable cars down to the white sandy beach.
