A most interesting country, well worth visiting. I enjoyed the trip very much and was pleased to be able to see the mass games, circus and Symphony Orchestra (which were excellent). Also the visits to several schools was most enjoyable. It was a really good trip - thank you Carl for organising my extension in Beijing.
Our guides were excellent with a good sense of humour. The size of our group was just right (10 persons) we met up with some huge groups in DPRK.
Hotels in DPRK were as expected. Our escorted tour leader (Carl Meadows) was excellent. Carl has the calm manner and professional approach required. His presence and knowledge made our North Korea holiday much more worthwhile.
For future info on the DPRK trip, the overnight train from Pyongyang to Beijing no longer accepts Euros, only Chinese currency in the restaurant car. Full marks to Carl for his speedy, efficient and accurate help. He was spot on with all his advice - it was a fabulous trip. Thank you
DPRK was absolutely brilliant - best trip ever!
I absolutely loved the tour to North Korea - a fascinating country with charming people. Everything was so interesting. The guides were excellent and Regent Holiday's arrangements were second to none. I hope to back to North Korea to see the Arirang games. Thanks to Carl for all your help.
It was an excellent holiday with top-quality service from Regent Holidays, Thank you, I will definitely use Regent Holidays in the future.
Best trip ever, all went like clockwork and as laid out in the Regent itinerary.
We saw sights that were amazing, a step back into the 1950's. It is only now reflecting on the tour that we realise how fortunate we were to experience such a different country. Would strongly suggest taking the train out rather than flying, yes it was a little difficult and uneasy but this made the perfect extreme experience to end the trip.
Local guides were excellent and very helpful and friendly.
If you wonder what life was like back in your grandparent's days.....North Korea is the trip for you. Except of course the mobile phones which seem to be everywhere. Guides are quite wonderful people who try very hard to help you see as much as you can in the time. The DMZ was totally different to what I expected. Where are all the troops waiting to invade the South? Food is superb. May not be representative of what's available to the locals, but far more than I could ever eat. Any finally, yes, leave the country by train. A real experience, if you don't mind sharing the carriage with Chinese smuggling currency!!!
Thank you for a marvellous experience. The local guide in DPRK was particularly good. It is my first time with Regent. I have already requested and received your brochures and look forward to travelling with you again. Very impressed with the whole service.
We had a fantastic guide throughout the trip. She was friendly, informative and when changes had to be made to the itinerary she kept us informed and dealt with everything in a very organised way. We were also impressed with our driver and felt very safe. The staff at the hotel in Kaesong could not have been more welcoming and the food was some of the best.
A truly superb holiday, everything Carl and all at Regent did was superb! Thank you!
Thank you Carl for excellent organisation. I will be back in touch in the future to organise another trip.
Wow! Where to begin? Thanks for the help with the visa applications – all very easy and stress-free. The trip notes were very useful and gave us a good idea of what to take. The highlight for us hotel-wise was the hot springs hotel in Nampo. This was a lovely place and very unexpected.
The tour itself was fascinating and it was great to see the Arirung Games and the parade to celebrate 60 years since the end of the war. One of the things I liked the best was the metro ride. Our guides and driver were great and our guide’s never-ending patience and sense of humour kept us all going. Many thanks for a holiday I will never forget.
The whole North Korean experience lived up to expectations. We went to the Arirang Games and the War Museum/Pueblo. Actually, for me, standing on the Peublo was one of the highlights of the tour, along with Panmunjom – I thoroughly enjoyed the creative retelling of history.
Staying a couple of nights away from Pyongyang, we encountered no other group (except the other Regent Group). We really appreciated the opportunity to stay in other cities.
We were certainly looked after very well. Are we glad we went once? Definitely. Would we chose Regent Holidays again? Yes, that was our fourth Regent trip, there will probably be more.
The local guides were both excellent, spoke good English and always cheerful. The Hotels and Restaurants had excellent well presented staff. They were always willing to please – and with a smile.
A fantastic experience and value for money. Highly recommended
This has truly been the trip of a life time and I'd like to thank you personally for helping to make it possible.
