Holidays
in Croatia and Bosnia - the Balkans - Tour Itineraries
An
11 day combined tour featuring Split, Jajce,
Sarejevo,
Mostar and Dubrovnik from £1181 per personThis
individual tour offers a comprehensive experience of the gems that Dalmatia (Split
and Dubrovnik) has to offer together with the charming sites of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
A true journey of discovery, which will not fail to impress you. Split
warmly welcomes you, with its busy maritime life and sunny plazas, but as soon
as you enter Bosnia, the landscape changes dramatically to a lush, green blanket
of forests, rivers and lakes. In fact, the name ‘Bosnia’ comes from
the word ‘bosana’, an Indo-European term meaning water. The different
landscape of Herzegovina, with its karsic mountains, vineyards and gentle Mediterranean
climate, will prepare you for your return to Croatia and its ‘pearl of Dalmatia’
– Dubrovnik.

mosques and its landmark fortress. Continue on to Jajce. Built in the 14th century,
Jajce was once the capital of the independent Bosnian kingdom. Now it is home

dedicated to the god Mitra and a wonderful waterfall. Dinner and overnight stay

war, many different ethnic groups have lived here peacefully – Muslims,
Croats, Serbs, Jews, Turks and many others. Foreigners are still made to feel
very welcome in Sarajevo. Transfer to hotel for 3 nights. Afternoon at leisure,
where you can visit the Sarajevo Museum for an historical overview of the Ottoman

houses and restaurants. Why not try the pitte – delicious local pies (burek
