Gothenburg Winter Break
Gothenburg is a friendly city on the west coast of Sweden, home to a vibrant cultural scene, world-class restaurants, sustainable living and a fascinating history, and all within walking distance. Explore the many cobbled streets lined with independent shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the many well-preserved wooden houses built between 1870 and 1940 as workers' homes. Fly from the UK to Gothenburg and take the bus into the bustling city centre to check-in for three-nights. The remainder of the day is free for to explore at leisure.
Spend the day exploring Gothenburg by Go City Gothenburg pass. This includes hop-on-hop-off city sightseeing bus, an excellent way to get your bearings and explore. We recommend a visit to Liseberg amusement park, located in a very central location. From mid November until 30th December, you can enjoy the Christmas market of Liseberg, one of the best Christmas markets in Sweden with more than 80 stands. Why not take a stroll through the cobblestoned historic neighbourhood of Haga? Check out some of the wonderfully decorated boutiques, clothing stores, antiques, decorative and interior design objects and even Swedish clogs and soaps. You could also visit a genuine chocolate and sweet store with old fashioned charm. (B)
Today why not consider a visit to one (or several) of the cities excellent museums, galleries or attractions? Enjoy free entry to many of the them with your Gothenburg Go City pass. We highly recommend a visit to the Art Museum, which is one of the finest in Sweden, showcasing renowned collections from international and Nordic artists.
